Meet Paula Burks, PT

Paula has been a physical therapist for over 25 years and has been an active member of the Blue Ridge community since moving to town full time in 2018.  Originally from Chattanooga, TN she graduated at the top of her PT class in 1997 from UTC.  Since then, she has worked in a variety of settings including inpatient Rehabilitation at Siskin Hospital, Geriatric physical therapy at multiple long term care facilities, Acute Care hospitals and most recently in outpatient physical therapy at Fannin Regional.

Paula has advanced clinical training in many different treatment modalities including trigger point dry needling, joint mobilization, spinal manipulation, myofascial release, craniosacral therapy, kinesiology taping, cupping, and NDT (Neuro Developmental Treatment).  She is also passionate about wellness and exercise on a personal level.  As a lifelong competitive athlete, Paula has raced all over the world in multiple sporting events including The Boston Marathon, USA cycling championships, Trans-Alps Mountain Bike Stage Race. In 2022, Paula won a bronze medal at the World Master's Marathon Kayak Championships in Portugal with her wife and kayak partner, Shannon Greenhill.
