No. Unfortunately, we are out of network with all insurance companies. However, you will receive a superbill in your patient portal that you can submit to your insurance company for your out of network benefits. The superbill will include all the information your insurance company will need to process the claim. In our experience, most clients have been successful in receiving either full or partial reimbursement, depending on their individual plan. If you are not sure what your out-of-network physical therapy reimbursement looks like, call your insurance company for this information.
We know it is expensive to pay out of pocket. Our promise is to get to the root cause of your issue quickly so that you can get back to what you love sooner. We rarely see people more than once a week and that saves you time in your busy life and in traffic. Most PT clinic see patients 2-3x/week and they see more than one patient at a time. Not us. We see you one on one during your visit so that you can continue to live your life with less interruption.
No, unfortunately we do not take Medicare.
In the state of Georgia, a prescription for physical therapy is not necessary for the first eight visits or twenty-one days. However, we will be unable to perform dry needling unless you have a script by the second visit. At Apogee18 Wellness and Rehabilitation, we prefer to have a script by the second visit so that we have more flexibility with your treatment. There are some circumstances like chronic conditions as well as health, wellness, and maintenance status that allows the patient to extend their physical therapy care past the allotted twenty-one days without a script.
You can get a prescription from your primary care physician or specialty physician (orthopedist, neurologist, etc.) as long as these providers have an MD or DO certification. We are unable to accept scripts from podiatrists (DPMs) or chiropractors. Many insurance companies also provide telehealth benefits that include speaking to a physician or nurse practitioner and so you may even be able to obtain a script for physical via a telehealth appointment. If you do not have a physician, we are happy to offer a list of providers that we commonly work with who may be able to help you obtain a script for physical therapy.
Physical therapy is utilized to evaluate and treat acute pain or injuries, overcome medical or surgical procedures or to manage acute exacerbations of chronic conditions. Physical therapy visits are based on medical necessity, progress and goals and are limited in the number of visits based on this need.
Wellness is the process of maintaining a healthy lifestyle through exercise, managing chronic pain through stretching, strengthening and flexibility and maximizing the benefit and progress you have made in previous rounds of physical therapy. It is open to anyone and there is no visit limit or cut off date. Wellness clients may need physical therapy from time to time but the goal of wellness is to allow you to maintain or improve your current ability for years to come.
